-Thank you Bobchillingworth for this map-
This is my Kobayashi Maru situation - a scenario that is unwinnable but shows character more than skill!
I have no clue what this map will hold, and if it will be even close to possible for me to have a chance.
Here we go!
Well, f*** off Bob! (No, really, this is great). A three tile island, no food bonuses (accessible at start), only one forest! I have never played the Ottomans before but they have... the Wheel and Agriculture. God-darned.
And I am Caesar, Organized and Imperialistic. The only advantage I see is Org.'s half production of lighthouses, which are a must!
I will settle in place and start researching Fishing, so I can grab the fish. (I named the city Bob's Hell for obvious reasons) Until fishing comes in, I will start on a barracks.
4 turns, not bad. Now go to sailing to find better land, and start a Work Boat so actual food can roll in! Looks like in in the South, so just sail north and good land is a coming!
I just found this; at least Raging Barbs will slow down the EMPEROR AI's while my island is completely safe. Tons of jungles, not much land, and not many turns to fight!
Stay tuned next time for this hell!

Requesting Help in A Map |

So, I am hoping to give myself an Adventure 26-esque Kobayashi Maru situation where I cannot win no matter what I try to do.
However, I do not want any spoilers of how this map looks or how it will run. If somebody could make an impossible situation for me with no spoilers, I would be glad to report on it so I can get advice in the worst of scenarios!
My three ideas:
- No Resources (Adventure 26)
- Godawful Terrain (The Gauntlet)
- Something Else Impossible
Thank you!

So I figured rather than continuing to spam the EitB Update thread below, I'd create a new thread just for 'pedia stuff so we can spam this thread instead!
There are still lots and lots of background/story/description entries that need filling in. I've copied Qgqqqqq's lists from the aforementioned thread, added a list for leaders, and struck through everything we've completed recently. I'll try to keep this up to date as more entries are written!

The Post-AH Era (for D3) |

Blizz sent me an email today saying they are shutting down the D3 AH next week, and to come claim my items off it. ... I haven't touched the game since 3 weeks after release. I guess I had some expired AH items?
Anyway, in theory, the removal of the entire AH could have drawn some interest for me, if not for two things: 1) the core design is still ridiculously oversimplified, with only weapons and two stats on armor making any difference. 2) I've heard they've gone too far the other way and it's now Monty Hall time, raining legendaries.
D1 had some unpleasant farming aspects to it if you wanted to get your Hell/Hell gear up to a non-variant level -- all those trips to Wirt, etc -- but it was worth it because the gameplay of actual combat was so elegant, so fun.
Is anybody in these parts still playing D3? I'd be curious to hear opinions on the post-AH state of the game, once someone gathers enough experience with it to form an informed opinion.
