Message from our Vent server
Quote:As you may or may not already know â Flagship Industries, Inc. is
releasing the new version of Ventrilo (3.0) this Wednesday the 14th.
New features include but are not limited to: User Access Rights,
Guest account and restrictions, Per-channel codec(s), User
authorization channels, Ranks, User complaint reporting, Private chat
sessions, and much, much more. Due to new features, Ventrilo.com has
asked hosting companies to remove the ability to modify users and
channels via the web control panels. As such, those features will be
only available via the Ventrilo 3.0 client when it is released on
Wednesday.
In efforts to make this transition as smooth as possible â we ask
that you tell your guild/clan members, and anyone else using your
Ventrilo servers as soon as you can about the update. The new version
of Ventrilo 3.0 is being released in the early morning hours of the
14th. All current servers will operate under Ventrilo 2.3.2 until the
client is released.
As such, DarkStar Communications will turn up everyoneâs server under
the new version as soon as it is made available to the public. PLEASE
BEAR IN MIND â Ventrilo 3.0 is not compatible with Ventrilo 2.3. As
such, when the servers are upgraded, those who do not have the new
client will not be able to connect. Furthermore, the new Ventrilo 3.0
client cannot connect to previous 2.3 servers. So please, download
the new client as soon as it is made available on Ventrilo.comâs web
site.
Pretty well explains it all.

Spotless Mind |

Well, we don't have a skills discussion forum so this is about as close as we get.
I read the wiki page for Spotless Mind and noticed a note that said it removed a hex on ending. Fox and I just finished some testing on this and basically confirmed it with a couple addendums:
- The remove on its ending is unaffected by enchant duration increases. If the skill is supposed to end at 11 seconds and you have a +20% duration mod on so the enchant last 13 seconds, the last removal happens at 11 seconds and not 13, even though the enchant will still last for another 2 seconds.
- If the enchant lasts a multiple of 5 seconds then you won't get a double removal on end (aka it doesn't remove one at 15 and then remove another for the ending bonus).
So, really, if you've got 16 heal you can remove up to 4 hexes with it. I'm not sure, but would guess that if Spotless Soul has a similar on end mechanic then it would probably work the same way.

Last night I partied with CB and Shadow's Amazon Basin character just so we could more easily chat. We were all playing in different areas but I am convinced that the mere fact that we were partied caused the difficulty to scale. After I withdrew from the party, I stopped dying quite as much.
Speaking of the chat function, it is just awful. The chat screen obstructs ones view to the extent that I doubt very many players will play with the screen up so if you do say something to a guild or party member you are unlikely to get a timely response. Even if you are playing with the screen up, it will disappear each time you die or enter a different area.
My blademaster now has a quest in the Big Gundown to operate a turrett gun and kill an exospector. After firing away at the exospector for a while, it spawned some flying mobs who have a shock attack. When they attack, you are unable to use the turrett gun and I seem to be unable to kill them using Heavens Light. Is there some trick to completing this quest?

When HG:L was announced and I saw the RB interest I decided it was time to try this kind of gaming. Never played Diablo, or Guild Wars so this whole form is brand new to me. Guidance and advice from some of the RB players would be much appreciated. I have a great deal of respect and admiration for this whole community and have enjoyed my association with it on the Civ side though my participation has been somewhat sporadic.
I am a long time mostly Sid's games player starting with Railroad Tycoon and Civ1 then straight to Xiv and Xiv with some detours through Gettysburg and the like). So the conventions, language and approach to a game like HG:L are all unknown.
I have started to play my way through the SP form of HG:L just to get used to the mechanics and some feel for the tactics and would like to get involved in the on-line game but don't want to commit any howlers in etiquette or game play.
The most attractive part of the on-line game is the opportunity to interact and co-operate with other human players, but I seek to avoid making any egregious errors that might diminish other players' enjoyment of the game.
Any suggestions?
