So here we are in our very-own thread.

Just enjoying the quiet before it all goes horribly wrong.

Thread title is temporary I guess.

But at least I am the first one to have a thread for my team! Which is good, given that this game was somewhat my idea. Go me.

So, this team is Caledorn as the green with Plako being the mastermind advising me on how to improve my civ skills. I'm not sure about my strengths and weaknesses - those who have lurked in PB18 may have some ideas, without bringing any spoilers in though (I am nearly dead in PB18 though, which is not a spoiler - just a question of a few turns left). I think I am fairly adequate at city management, and tile management - and I know I am very bad at military. PB18 is also the only PB I've ever played in that didn't have diplomacy, which is reflected by how well that adventure turned out for me (not that I ever thought I'd win - I am pleasantly surprised that I will have lasted more than half the game in turn numbers though!).

That's that for now. Given the form of this game, expect me to be a lot better at reporting than I was in PB18 - it felt absolutely pointless in reporting in PB18 given the low amount of lurkers present, and the lurker civ who would report whenever something interesting was going on in my little corner of the world anyways.

This should be interesting.

I didn't want to pollute the FF report thread but I thought I would ask the question. It seems common knowledge that FF and Square have gone down hill in the last 15 years but I haven't seen much in depth discussion on why that is. I also can't really express why I don't really care for the new FFs after FFX. Nor can I find a really good analysis of the subject.

Funnily enough, the FF Wikia Q/A section has this to say, not sure if I agree:

Essentially they've sucked the soul out to make this dry, uninteresting and frankly pretty boring series which panders to your typical teenage anime fan, with melodramatic plots, one-dimensional characters, over-the-top visuals and a more modern setting as opposed to the fantasy worlds that featured in earlier titles. To be honest, if you're a fan of the old FFI - FFIX games, I'd check out Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn. Although it's online, the guy that Enix hired to create A Realm Reborn is a huge fan of traditional Final Fantasy games and he's trying to emulate the old SNES era titles. It looks really good
