Variants are separated into Diablo II Classic and Expansion lists due to the significant differences between the two versions of the game. It is entirely possible to play an Expansion variant in D2 classic, and a Classic variant in the expansion. The separate lists are maintained to make it easier to recognize which version of the game the author had in mind at the time that the variant was written.

Amazonian	The classic Diablo 1 variant arrives in the East!
Battle Rager	Monsters only hurt themselves when they tangle with this dwarf.
Boot Camp Dropout	A Druid trapped in Barbarian circumstances
Diakon	Three subclasses with divine origins
Drow	Treachery. Deceit. Death. This is the way of the drow.
Forger	Creates all his own fighting gear
Goth	The bodies, and armor, of our fallen comrades litter the bloodstained ground.
High Elf	The elf is nimble and versatile.
The Legion of Greiz	You nod excitedly and don't even scream as Greiz binds, gags, and drags you by your hair out of the hospice window.
Light Warriors	Final Fantasy inspired variants come together to protect the world
Rogue Rogues	A band of Rogues tries to escape from their sisters because Kashya, who is under Diablo's mind control..
Slackers	...years of abuse of The Weed have left their toll, and she tends to be slow to pick up even the most rudimentary skills.
Team Variants
7 Samurai	The farmers get their assets together (a bag of rice) and set out to hire some Samurai to defend them when the harvest, and hence bandits, arrives.
Beyond Naked Characters	D2 BNs will pride themselves on the partners they travel with! Although there are no cursed items in Diablo2 (and expansions), Classic Diablo BNs can never go as far Beyond as D2 BNs can. In fact, D2 BNs can be too cursed to be playable.
Friendly Fire	Friendly fire teams play as a hostile party.
Low Rent Legion	A team, HC (or not, if people will be scared away) of low rent heroes, heroes who cannot afford to go to school and learn anything beyond the first grade.
Moor Squad of Death	"Moor Wall of Death!!" What words could possibly strike greater fear into the hearts of demons and overlords??
Nature's Cabal	All characters involved are of the Druid class. Each character will be limited to specific skills.
Rogue Revival	Thus the sorcie is the closest match. She can teleport, support herself with "limited" magic, and must use normal attack.
