  How Much?
Posted by: demonslayer21 - February 6th, 2007, 18:35 - Forum: Off Topic - Replies (3)

I was shopping at Wal-Mart over the weekend, and just looking around for more games to add to my collection. Now, I don't think I ever announced it on here, but my Civ III cd (original) got cracked, so I had to trash it, making the expansion disk all but usefull. While at Wally World I noticed Civ III (complete) and Civ IV (warlords) sitting next to eachother. Civ IV was nearly 20 dollars expensive than Civ III, so I got Civ III instead. While I probably could've afforded it, as I had a gift card with $25 on it, and about one hundred in my wallet, I decided to save it. Civ III was $20 while Civ IV was nearly $40. Is that the normal price for the games?

An interesting variant, involving getting a Gandhi we're locked into war with into space ahead of everyone else. I may have missed SGOTM3 after the drawn-out process that was finishing SGOTM2, but this sounds like too much fun to miss. Anyone else fancy it?

  Farewell!
Posted by: Drasca - February 5th, 2007, 16:42 - Forum: Off Topic - Replies (12)

I'll be on indefinite hiatus starting Tues, Feb 6th. New career, and I have neither internet access nor time for a long time coming.

Made friends. Made internet family. Been fun. That's all I could've asked for and more. Glad to have been here. I'll try to post that I'm alive, four months from now.

I'm not one for self-promotion, but I recently played a pretty amazing game of Master of Orion and typed it up for my website. Since I think a number of folks here would enjoy looking at it, I thought I would post the link:

  Meeting time for GvG
Posted by: Lurker Wyrm - February 1st, 2007, 11:39 - Forum: PvP - Replies (13)

My best guess is that no one other than myself, Fox, and Hawk knows what's going on in or pays attention to the GvG topic anymore. Anyone who's looked at the in-game guild status page knows we haven't had a GvG for a while now, and one semi-big thought is that Wednesday night just isn't a good night for people. The other big one is that people don't seem to feel they have the skills/ability to contribute, which is something I'll deal with on an individual level and possibly make a new topic about at some later point in time. Right now I'm more concerned with getting people together and participating.

As you've no doubt guessed by the title, this topic is to figure out what time works best for people. I'm not as interested in which day of the week we meet right now (baby steps), but do say so if there's a particular day that doesn't work. When you list your available times, please include your relation to GMT time (i.e. my time zone is EST, which is GMT -5). Also, bear in mind that this is a GvG meeting time, if you already have a meeting time you use for something PvE, say Tuesday nights at 8:30 EST (1:30 AM GMT), it might be a good idea to list that as a time you're unable to meet.

And yes, I will be adding this to the announcement.

Anyways, to kick it off:
My best meeting times would be weekdays from 3 - 5 PM EST (8 - 10 PM GMT) and/or 9PM - 1AM (2 - 6 AM GMT). I will not be able to make Tuesdays in the evening since that's when the variant team meets. Thursday nights also might not work out for me, depending on the meeting time.

  PvP
Posted by: theGrimm - January 25th, 2007, 05:54 - Forum: PvP - Replies (5)

After receiving a few invitations from guildies to join them for some PvP, I began the journey to unlock TA and HA. I'm still not entirely sure how all the PvP stuff fits together, but I believe I now need to complete 5 wins (in a row?) in Random Arenas to unlock TA.

This morning was my first serious attempt to do so. Basically, I got thrashed. lol

I have no problem with dying...I realise I'm not just to walk into RA and reign supreme. What's annoying, though, is that I mostly don't even know what killed me!

Sadly, I only have one char, a necro, as far as Droknars, don't have an awful lot of "stuff" (skills or equipment), or know the game well enough to recognise what's dangerous, and what to cast on what.

Although my primary interest is PvE, I'm sure I'll enjoy a bit of PvP, if you guys can can point me in the direction of the necessary unlocks without a huge investment of time...

I just don't want those who have extended PvP invites to feel I'm brushing them off.

  Bulrathi a bad race?
Posted by: TheArchduke - January 16th, 2007, 04:31 - Forum: Master of Orion - Replies (14)

I beg to differ. I was on par territory-wise with Meklars and Silicoids in my last game with the Meklars having a huge tech lead (ADV CPU Tech VIII or something) whilst I just began to research the last techs before the ADV come in.

And guess what the ground combat bonus won the game for me. Whilst the 32k ship fleet of the Meklars destroyed colony after colony, I used my 2x50 Titans to pick off Planets everywhere, but not destroying them but assaulting them, winning 2:1 all the time. Which is a huge advantage.

So why are the bears only 3rd tier with Sirian.

  Diablo 2 1.10 Poison Damage
Posted by: dathon - January 15th, 2007, 14:32 - Forum: Diablo - Replies (2)

Can anybody point me to an article or spreadsheet calculator for poison damage in Diablo 2 v1.10? I know there was one at marduke.com, but that site appears to be down. I know the basic stacking formula is dmg/s adds and durations add, but I want to know the exceptions, and how the Poison Dagger skill factors into the whole mess. My wife recently expressed an interest in playing, and I'd like to do that Dagger Necro I'd always wanted to play, but never got around to.

Thanks,
dathon
