Scenario:
As it says above, the sun rises on the year 4000 BC. Since time emmemorial, the American people have lived a nomadic life. After years of wandering, they are ready to settle down and found your first city.
Unfortunately, life is just not that easy. On the very day that this momentous decision is made, a group of barbarians rush from no where and kill everyone, all the animals, all the American's resources, everything!
Everything - except for 1 lone man.
That night, this lone man tells such a tale of adventure, such a tale of longing for the future, such a tale of sorrow that the barbarians are overcome and promise to help this man - to join this American tribe.
And thus, this 1 man is joined by 4 others.
Together they sit through the morning, sharing what they have with the man. They have scouted wide during their travels and found 4 other tribes that appear to have settled nearby. Maybe they can join one of these tribes and the future can be theirs together.
Game Objective:
This is a non-scoring event. The aim of the game is to tell the biggest, most exciting tale of the rise of the American people.
I was thinking, would it be worthwhile having a thread collating the locations (or simply having the files attached) of all the Pitboss and PBEM maps? This can be limited to the completed games if necessary.
There was talk of replaying games on some of the maps, but it would be good have the maps available for personal use.
Here is a list of those I have so far:
RB MAPS - Current accumulation of maps, will be updated as I acquire more. (spacetyrantxenu)

Hmm got myself another thread to update regularly and post lots of screenshots for :neenernee
Not sure quit how much rubbish I need to post here to deal with mouseover thread text so lets see.
I'll just comment on FFHPBEM4 a bit
Some people questioned my choice of Svartalfar > Ljosjalfar (forgive the spelling), my main reason was so I'd have 5 strength hunters to hopefully deal with a PoW rush as well as possible. I'm also ded lurking uberfish who's playing the good elves in PBEM2 so I didn't want to just replicate that game. Anyone who's played LoL with me knows I hate ot do the same thing twice!
PBEM4 ended up being all about the 2 world spells used together and how they took 2 players out of the game (if you considered my 'vassalage' being taken out of the game). I'm not sure that was really possible to counter with any civ/leader pick, add in all the barbarian archers + cities and the "For the Horde" spell was flat out inbalanced on its own. Poison archers are great for stopping Rantine taking over cities for the Clan but letting the Clan convert a whole bunch of them isn't good. 6 str defenders are simply impossible to clear out of your lands until a player reaches the second tier of military units so having them at turn 50 is....not fun to play against.
"Every time my best friend came to my house, we would stare through the window for a long time. I live in the fifth floor of an apartment and the view is very beautiful, even though you can only see the city, especially when it was raining.
We would say to each other that people seldom look through the window in their lives. We would talk about how these people have lost their feelings. And about how we suffered for being so different from them.
At that time, we used to believe in that.
It has been a while since I last talked to this friend. I believe that he doesn't stop his day to look through the window anymore. Actually, I don't think he ever did it. I'm not blaming him, by no means. Looking back, I knew that all that wasn't anything but talk. But I don't blame us for our conversations. It was what we could do in those days.
I, on the other hand, always looked a lot through that same window".
I'm Sel-R-AHC-1.
This thread is not about pirates.
This is the story of Alpha Complex.
The Patrian empire collapsed. The great cities sealed themselves away in magical protections.
Before the fall, Alpha Complex had been the administration centre for agriculture across the empire.
The great magical automatons that administered the tasks were mostly annihilated.
All but one.
A great spirit that administered over the fishing fleet of the empire.
Seeing its potential value the last high magisters worked over its program extensively. Thy turned it from an automaton into a computer, one that would look after the populace when they died. They programmed it to be on the lookout for the cultists and mutants that had destroyed the Empire. They programmed it to look after the remaining populace to the best of its abilities. They tried and failed to get it to stop being so obsessed with bloody fishing.
For generations now the Computer has been running Alpha-Comlex.
To annihilate any latent support for the cultists that had permeated into society, the computer created a vast network of security clearances, and a powerful internal security force to police its populace.
[In reality there had been no support for the cultists that had destroyed the empire within Alpha Complex. But after a few generations of ruthless cracking down on a non-existent enemy many secret societies began to form. The colour based clearance system created a vast illiterate underclass, ready to believe almost anything since almost all information was unavailable to them.]
To stop genetic drift, it has used its innate Body magic facilities to create a vast cloning system, creating new population only when required. Mutants were ruthlessly purged as the enemies of orthodoxy. Only a select few registered mutants were allowed to exist, as a tolerated underclass.
[Of course the reality was that due to the chaos protocols inherent in the computers operating matrix, large portions of the populace were mutated. Barely any of them felt like admitting this to the computer though.]
And of course, the Complex was fully dedicated to fishing. The populace was informed daily and nightly on proper fishing protocol. Proper fishing procedure. What types of fish were the best. It became mandatory to list the various procedures in reeling out and reeling in before sleep time. The majority of the populace enjoyed a small connection to the buisness as they worked in the vast underground kelp farms.
[Of course this vast ritualization of the process coupled with a complete lock down from the outside world meant that any actual information about fishing was covered up with vast amounts of misinformation and stifling protocol.]
You want to know more? I'm afraid that information is not available at your security clearance.
This thread offers the reader what is perhaps the most detailed consideration of the issue of mixed marriage in centaur fiction. It will recount the marriage of the nobleman Mardoc and Irgy, the daughter* of Mr Ed and Xanthos. In this marriage between two people "of good birth and lineage," who are carefully established as equals in all but species, we will carefully bring together what we see as the best of the two cultures.

We'll be running this as a two-part team, as illustrated below**:
* This is now the second spoiler thread intro in which I imply I'm female. I'm starting to wonder myself now...
